FAQ & Boundaries

Questions before beginning

Do I need to join a cohort to use YishHeh?

No. You can read and use the practice pages here without enrolling in a cohort. Cohort Learning Labs is a separate facilitated group offering. YishHeh Circles is a proposed communal form, not an enrollment program on this site.

Why not begin with the full hour?

The source names an hour, but this website does not treat duration as an achievement. Beginners are invited to taste description in one- and two-minute sittings so that the hour does not become another performance.

Is the goal to become calm?

Calm may appear, but it is not promised and is not the test. The wish for calm may itself become something to notice.

Is this meditation or mindfulness?

Those words may help some readers notice a family resemblance, but they are not adequate definitions. YishHeh arises from a particular Jewish textual and prayer context.

Is this therapy or mental-health treatment?

No. The practice and the website are not medical or mental-health care and do not replace professional support.
